The Voice Kids 2014 - Lena Meyer-Landrut, Henning Wehland und Revolverheld-Frontmann Johannes Strate suchen junge Sänger mit großartigen Stimmen
Ob jung oder alt - nur die Stimme zählt: In vier „Blind Auditions" lassen sich die drei Coaches mit dem Rücken zur Bühne von den Stimmen verzaubern. Sie drücken den Buzzer, um die jungen Talente für ihr Team zu gewinnen. Anschließend treten die jungen Sängerinnen und Sänger (8 bis 14 Jahre) in drei „Battle"-Shows jeweils in Dreier-Konstellationen an. Die Gewinner der „Battles" ziehen direkt in das Finale ein. Der Sieger von „The Voice Kids" bekommt einen Ausbildungsvertrag in Höhe von 15.000 Euro sowie einen optionalen Plattenvertrag. Die Eltern entscheiden, ob sie diese Option wahrnehmen oder nicht. Moderiert wird die die zweite Staffel von „The Voice Kids" wieder von Thore Schölermann (28), als Backstage-Moderatorin ist Nela Lee (33, „taff") im Einsatz.

The Voice Kids is iedere vrijdagavond om 20.30 uur te zien bij RTL 4. Bij deze show gaat het om écht talent. Alleen het beste van het beste is goed genoeg. De beste stem en de juiste mentaliteit, daar draait het om. The Voice Kids is op zoek naar iemand met grote klasse, met blijvende impact en een eigen geluid. Na een strenge voorselectie mag een klein aantal talenten een Blind Audition doen voor de coaches Marco Borsato, Ali B en Ilse de Lange.
Na The Blind Auditions gaat elke coach met zijn talenten door naar The Battle. Daar strijden de talenten in de battle-ring tegen elkaar voor een plek in de volgende ronde. De talenten die overblijven gaan naar de grote LIVE finale die op 1 april zal plaatsvinden in studio 22!

A lot of unusual toys come out of Japan, and this range of Japanese musical automata is no exception!

The toys are made by the Maywa Denki company, and these toy figures embody a number of Japanese characteristics. These include the humour of KARAKURI (traditional Japanese mechanical toys), cuteness from HANIWA (ancient clay figures) and also KOKESHI, which are a range of Japanese dolls.

These Japanese toys were bought in 2004 in a small shop in central London that specialises in unusual Japanese products.

Finally, as a contrast, we have a toy automaton from the West - the Mechanical Piggy Chef! This is made by Rocket USA, a company that has been making toys and other fun things since 1997.

The Piggy Chef is a wind up toy, and once you start him going, he spices and flips the food for you. What is on the menu? It looks like steak and eggs. It is impressive that the food really is flipped and caught - there is no string!
